A big part of my yoga practice has been to constantly push myself- -make progressions no matter how small or large the feat •
Today, was all about regression. Moving through the steps I spent quality time on so that each built on to the next- -headstand, forearmstand, handstand. Buttttt doing them in reverse was MUCH harder as you can see with all the wiggles lol in my defense, I’d been trying this for about 30 mins nonstop😂🤦🏽‍♀️ “but did you die?” Lmao nope

Time to nerd out on the deadlift!

Deadlift comparisons - sumo (narrow width) and conventional. Fun look at different limb lengths, scapular positioning and feet placement to set up for the deadlift. 
There is no such thing as universal perfect form for any individual. Limb length, hip orientation and mobility restrictions all play a part into finding the “sweet spot.” In this video, I demonstrated a narrow stance sumo (if that’s even a thing) deadlift where my feel placement is just wide of my shoulders, with toes turned out slightly. For my build, I found this position extremely comfortable and strong! It felt like a great balance between using the legs, back and core to pull the bar. 
Conventional deadlift: Having a short torso and long legs forces my hips to travel far from the bar and my torso almost becomes horizontal. This position of the hips places greater stress on the lower back and upper hamstrings. *not a bad thing! I simply feel strongest in the modified sumo deadlift. 
Take away ... neither form of the deadlift is wrong, simply different. Experiment with different positions and find the ones that feel right. Address mobility restrictions, but don’t forget to have fun with lifting!

Big Friday night 101: PR deadlift at 315 lbs and we clustered it for 3 reps. Guess not a true 1 rep max 🤷‍♂️. Ken's first big goal ✔. Slowly moving on up to that BW deadlift. Pant sizes going down, weights moving up. People see the gym workouts, etc but miss the bigger picture about wellness. He feels so much better and moves around so much better during the daily activities. Stop getting worried about going 0-100, take the first step and focus on the little things.

Squat every day - day 28

I enjoyed yesterday's front squats session so much that I opted to do the same thing again today.

While Tuesday/Wednesday I was experiencing a bit of mental fatigue (for lack of a better description), the issue today was more physical. I was really up for it so I was able to go as hard as I could, but I wasn't able to generate as much power as I would have liked after yesterday's grueling heavy front squat + deadlift workout. As a result, my form on the 275lbs front squat was ugly again (albeit a bit better than yesterday), and even 265lbs was sketchy.

Followed that up with some OHP, which went well, minus the heavier reps that I missed.

So, despite the fact that it was a good workout and fine way to end a decent week in the gym, content wise I don't have much to show for it 😂 here are a couple of okayish reps.
