Fuel Pump Replacement
(More Muscle For Your Hustle)
The Deatschwerks DW65c 265LPH pump has served me well for 4.5 years at the previous stage I was in. Although it fully supports 1050cc injectors, the term "fully" just doesn't cut it for me. Meaning it might be at its limit at some point when a higher fuel demand is required.
Which is why I moved to AEM's 340LPH pump. Although similar in size, it's more than enough to supply fuel to 1050cc injectors. Key statement, "more than enough". Always pay attention the certain words when making the right decisions for your goals.
For the most part, you want plenty of head room. Same goes for cooling or reinforcing.
As for the install, I've done my share of pumps on these cars. Both pumps are direct drop-ins and easy to install. My only issue was with a Walbro 255LPH pump on another car that required cutting the pump housing on newer models. Something I'll never do again.
Word of the wise, never do a fuel pump change while your tank is full, with the car jacked up in the air on uneven surfaces. OMG. 💦💦💦
