I was having my quiet time this morning and stumbled across a bible verse that caught my attention.
It said, "Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith."
Many people think of the word, 'champion' and immediately associate it with a competition, a winner. They are not wrong as the word is derived from the Latin word 'campionem' for "gladiator, fighter." _
Another definition of champion that was particularly striking to me, however, is "a person who fights for a cause". For instance, if you are the champion of human rights, you keep pushing to ensure the basic rights of people are protected. In other words, to champion means to protect or fight for something.
@doctoringwithpurpose was born from a deep need and desire to find a cause bigger than medicine. I asked myself, "How does my life's work align with my purpose?" Then, I decided to be a champion of purpose and an agent of change for the rest of my life. Why? Because I believe purpose is such a great cause that is worth fighting for & reminding people of!
So, you can call me your friendly purpose champion.😄 I believe this is someone who believes in purpose so much and will chase & dispense it like their life depends on it...literally!😂
A champion of purpose is a cheerleader, an inspirational coach that awakens a sense of purpose in those they encounter so that purpose becomes a cause and a movement that people start to believe, adopt & champion themselves!
