Happy Wellness Wednesday Everyone 🌞 When I left work today, I had every intention of going home and taking a nap, but after realizing how nice it was outside, I decided to go for a run! I went for a 2 mile run at a beautiful park near my house and felt so refreshed afterwards! Sometimes you just need to get out and moving to feel better! Also, to build up my endurance, I have started using the @c25kfree app to help me with my running. It’s an amazing app that’s allows you to still listen to music, but provides you with alerts on when to walk and run. My hopes is to one day be able to fully run a 5k without having to walk at all. But not Insanity Max 30....🙈 I decided after doing it on Monday, to switch it up to help me get back into the swing of things and do #HIIT instead!😂 I find it's super effective and gets my body back into fitness mode!😉

Plan for this week, is to workout 4 days (2 days on, 1 day off, then 2 days again), 30 mins long, then from next week, do 5 days a week (30-40 mins).💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

I have put together some HIIT routines on YouTube to trial out for the next month, if I think they are good, I'll definitely recommend!🤸🏾‍♀️💃🏽👯‍♀️

This was yesterday (Tuesday) workout, which was a #Afrobeats HIIT #dance #workout and everything was trembling after! I look a hot mess, so you know it worked! Plus I'm feeling it today so definitely a keeper, I'm in love lol😍😍😍

In terms of nutrition, drinking loads of water (3-4 litres), eating as clean as I can, cutting out sugar, watching my portions, being #vegetarian, not excluding any food groups but upping my protein and keeping my carbs brown. I'll post more food stuff as I go along! 🍲💯🍶🌮🥗🥙🌯🌽🥕🥔🍆🥑🍅🥝🍓🍐🍏🍎🍍🍌🍋🍊🍉🍈🍇

What is infertility? And what does/did it feel like to be infertile? 
The basic definition is being unable to conceive after one year of trying. If a woman can get pregnant, but has miscarriages, stillbirths, that is also considered infertility. If you’re 35 and older and haven’t become pregnant after 6 months, that can be considered infertility as well. Infertility is a disease, and common reasons for infertility are PCOS, Endometriosis, infections, irregular ovulation, and more. 
In my case it stems from Hashimotos Thyroiditis. Which is an autoimmune disorder effecting my whole body, and as you know your thyroid regulates it all! Throw in the occasional PCOS flare ups, and I was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure at 25. Infertility can feel lonely, and isolating as you’re working your way through testing, specialists, and your relationships in life. But, there can be light at the end of the tunnel. I look forward to sharing with you how I got here. ✨

Day 17 - Gratitude is being thankful for friends who care enough to help you face life ‘front on’… and will always ‘have your back.’ I think one of the hardest concepts to grasp is friendship. How do we be a friend to ourself? How do we be a friend to others? How do we support a friend struggling with life's knocks? How do we receive support from friends when we are struggling with life? Why do some friendships grow and others die?

Last nights dinner became quite the Indian feast! Creamy butter chicken with saag aloo (potato and spinach) and plenty of fluffy rice 🍚 The butter chicken recipe can be found via @recipe_tin, and was delicious. I used half the recommended cream and I don’t think we missed it. There was plenty of creamy, rich sauce to go around! I mostly followed a recipe from BBC Good Food for the saag aloo and my gosh, it was delicious and simple 🤤 
I chopped up an onion, 2 cloves of garlic and fried this in canola oil. I then added 4 medium sized potatoes large diced, and spices - 1/2tsp chili flakes, yellow mustard seeds, cumin powder and turmeric, plus about a good sprinkle of salt. Once the potatoes were coated well, I added some water - maybe 1/5 cup, and popped a lid on. The steam cooked the potatoes really quickly. Then I added in a big handful of baby spinach which of course wilted down to nothing 😂
We’ll be making this one again for sure! A really easy side dish with any Indian 😍

escapril day 24 - liar, liar

I've had a rough day and it actually all came down to the person who influenced this poem. I have written some venom towards them in order to feel slightly better but I just feel rather numb. I hope one day this situation doesn't matter anymore but it really just feels as bad as it did to begin with.

escapril day 24 - liar, liar

I've had a rough day and it actually all came down to the person who influenced this poem. I have written some venom towards them in order to feel slightly better but I just feel rather numb. I hope one day this situation doesn't matter anymore but it really just feels as bad as it did to begin with.

How good are walks?? I find out of all the ways to work out, that walking makes me feel the best. The fresh air just clears my head like nothing else and makes me feel so motivated and ready for the day 😍 I used to listen to music on my walks but I’ve now switched to listening to podcasts instead, makes me feel even more empowered!

Fat Loss is a tricky subject.

So many people keep worrying themselves about the one thing. Weight. There is much more to weight loss and fat loss then just the weight number.

You need to check your measurements regularly. But not too often. Probably every couple of months.

You should be looking at progress photos. Do these regularly, but not weekly. That's too often to see a decent change.

But stay away from the weight numbers only. 
As a beginner to weight loss, your numbers will move up and down and stagnate and be all over the place for your weight.
The reason why, will be because as you are losing Fat, you will also be adding Muscle. And, as per my previous post, muscle weighs more than fat per the same square cm.

However.....the trickiest part of fat loss is....
Are you being consistent?
Are you being patient?

And patience is the real key.

Are you being patient enough with your journey? There is a huge possibility that your weight number isn't changing because you are puting on muscle at the same time as burning fat.

And there are no short cuts here either. If you want proper fat loss, long term. And be healthy whilst you do that. As well as being functional without muscle loss. Then you need to be focused and patient.

You WILL get there.
You WILL lose that weight.
You WILL have that new body.

Be patient and consistent, and stop worrying about that one number.

SPRING ENERGY 🍃

In Chinese medicine each season has it’s own special energy. With that energy comes different emotions that prevail during that season. I don’t know if you can guess what Spring’s energy is (based on how kookoo bananas some people have been lately) but if you guessed anger, you’d be right! 😡
.
So why is everybody so p.o.’d lately? During the Winter, the universal energy slows down. We see this with the hibernation of plants and animals, and our own tendencies to want to rest and be still. Once the universe starts picking up the pace for Spring, if we can’t match it’s energy, our own energy can get stuck. All that stuck energy results in qi stagnation, especially in the Liver. Picking a ripe strawberry is one of my son’s favourite things to do. So you can imagine his excitement and pure calm when we visited Tuckerberry Hill with their endless supply. So delicious 🍓 try telling toddlers they need to buy before they try 🙈.

Anxiety is something we create. Each person's experiences are different and each individual processes information differently based on their past, therefore in TCM, this emotion is treated depending on the person’s symptoms. 
Anxiety is a harmful emotion because it blocks Qi (vital energy). This energy injures the lungs because they control Qi through breathing. That is why common symptoms of anxiety or an anxiety attack are shortness of breath, shallow breath and irregular breathing. Anxiety also injures the lungs' partner organ, the large intestine. For example, anxious people are prone to ulcerative colitis and IBS.

The shortage of breath experienced during periods of anxiety is common to everyone, but there are 3 other types of anxiety symptoms as well. 
Anxiety from excess worry and pensiveness stems from spleen and stomach imbalance. This can cause stomach swelling, distention and bloating after eating.

Kidney and bladder issues can be the native root for this emotion as well. Because our adrenal glands monitor and regulate our stress response, anxiety can be felt if there is disharmony or imbalance between the kidneys and heart. This manifests in symptoms like rapid heart palpitations.

Schisandra is a tincture I make that is very helpful to preventing adrenal fatigue, promoting circulation in the digestive tract and cleansing the liver. Because the adrenals, liver and the stomach are so affected by anxiety, this tincture helps to harmonize the organs imbalanced and lessen anxiety! 
Longterm anger and irritation unbalances the liver and anxiety manifests into insomnia, nervous tension and irritability. These tendencies would be helped greatly by incorporating Liver Recharge into one's daily routine to help balance emotions and regulate the flow of Qi and healthy blood. 
To help anxiety you want to focus on building your Yin energy which is your cooling energy. Eat celery, tofu, beans, yams, sesame, chamomile, plums, tangerine, licorice, ginseng. Reduce stimulants like alcohol, sugar, and caffeine.

Time simply goes by so far (especially when it is the most beautiful) so I always realize how important it is to enjoy every single second of our life.✨
You don’t need a place like this to enjoy every little second  of your life or to be happy, but you need inner peace and a passion in which you put in your heart’s blood every day.
Do not get stuck in your vicious circle but go to the discovery phase. Each one of us has a determination even if it shows up over a longer time. It is never too late to develop a passion and make something big out of it. Everything is possible you just have to overcome your fears to pursue it. 🌿✨

Lemon tree, also called "English lemon tree", belongs to the large Rutaceae or citrus family. Its fruits are present on the tree throughout the year, with peaks in March through April and October through December.

Crusaders called lemons the "Median apple" and it was taken on board ships as an anti-scurvy treatment by Arab navigators two centuries before Christopher Columbus crossed the Atlantic in his caravels. For many years it was only used as an antidote and remedy for respiratory ailments, the essence of Citrus limonum rind is recommended for its tonic, hepatic and anti-nausea properties.

Its pleasant fragrance cleanses the air. It helps fight against heavy legs, water retention and excess weight when the symptoms are of hepatic origin.

If you have sluggish digestion, simply add two drops of lemon essence (or 1 drop of lemon essence and 1 drop of essential oil of peppermint) on a neutral tablet or small sugar lump. After finishing a meal, allow the sugar lump or neutral tablet to dissolve in the mouth.

The breakfast here is amazing ! They offer such a huge variety of different things and also for a plantbased diet.
Today I ate a bowl of vegan birchermüsli, chiapudding, soy Joghurt, fruits and quinoaseeds (at the bottom). On the side I also found some chocolate energy balls and banana raw bars. 🌿☀️

Und ein neuer Tag im Paradies beginnt .. Ich habe selten ein so tolles und reichhaltiges Frühstücksbüffet erlebt. Das Hotel bietet so unendlich viele verschiedene Sachen an, sodass wirklich jeder etwas findet. Selbst für eine pflanzenbasierte Kost ist reichlich gesorgt. Ich habe mir heute zum Beispiel eine Bowl mit Chiapudding, veganem Birchermüsli, Sojajoghurt, gekeimten Quinoa und Obst gemacht und es war sooooo lecker. Getoppt habe ich das Ganze noch mit Schoko - Energyballs und Bananen-Hafer Rawbites. Ich bin im Frühstückshimmel.

Crying is a way of expressing and communication our feelings. It is a natural response that allows us to express fear, grief, anger, frustration, helplessness, joy and empathy 🙏

Busy morning today so I’ve just gone for a small walk and finished off with a stretching session (with breaky and water in front of me today maybe because time is limited this morning 🤣) so that I could listen to the new @keepitcleaner podcast, which I LOVED as per always @laura.henshaw @stephclairesmith @djkfitness. Strength has always been my favourite type of training and so many of my women friends have never understood that! It’s really great to hear you guys talking about the benefits, I’m sure you have changed so many peoples minds after just one podcast 🥰💪🏼 Wednesdays are my favourite days now, live and breathe these podcasts.

I had the best time away on holidays with my boyfriend visiting my best friend who has just moved away. I spent time with my two favourite people in the world (and no, the dog in this pic is not one of them), ate lots of food and laughed a lot ❤️ It was very hard to say goodbye to my best friend and come home, but I am looking forward to get back into routine and eat a little less than I did all weekend, I think I’ll be full for the rest of the week after how much food I’ve consumed over the long weekend 🥴

Relax and take some you time this weekend ❤️

Holiday hotel room @keepitcleaner HIIT workout ✅
Smashed out a HIIT workout this morning and I feel absolutely pumped! I had a few days break due simply just being busy and my god it feels AMAZING to get back into it 😍💪🏼 I used a blanket for my mat, subbed out skipping for high knees and filled a bag with some food and any heaving objects I could find around the hotel room to use a kettle bell and medicine ball!

Thank goodness it’s Thursday, their week has gone sooo slow for me, I thought yesterday was Friday... 😭 Boxing was just what I need to get me through the end of this week, I have so much fun with the boxing sessions! I love doing something a bit different!

When strength and flexibility come together there is equilibrium and harmony. If you have a strength practice in your life (and maybe it’s just life) then yin is the best balancing practice. A lot of yoga classes nowadays are busy, fast past and at times completely confusing which, in my experience, tend to exacerbate any stress and anxiety I may be experiencing. I feel that if we really want to level out and reset, it’s yin and meditation that is going to support us. I’m continuing to see firsthand the benefits of a more meditative yoga practice; clarity of mind, less yanked around by my emotions and more compassionate toward myself and others. You may not work up a sweat in this slower paced practice but I can assure you, your mind will. And if you get the mind right, everything else will follow.
