Rest Day Research: Gym playlist! Fact or fiction?
Your heading to the gym to get that epic chest sesh in...You got your bag, belt and preworkout. As well as that epic song to get you pumped...but what is that song actually doing? Do we just believe that its helping our lifts? or does it actually do something?! Time to put the playlist to the test!

Methods: this article was simple...twelve men who lifted atleast 2-3 days a week lifted within 2 groups. Either a song they preferred or a song they did not prefer to see if there really is a difference in gym performance

Results: As you can see in the 2nd photo. Interestingly, the group that lifted with their preferred song actually gained an additional 1.5 reps per set!! this may not seem alot but 3 sets per exercise, 4-6 exercises..that's a minimum of 18 reps more left in the tank without your go to playlist!
.
THM: In the end this article unfortunately didnt have a control group so it's really hard to have a solid comparison in the article. Nonetheless, working out to your favorite jam is not only good for the mental state and the hype but as well as the physical standpoint for more reps! If you want more gains, rock out to your favorite song!

2. BIG ASS PORTABELLO is where it's at!! 🍄
Y'all you want to talk about my favorite fungus on the planet.  It's portabellas. The REALLY REALLY big ones too. They are so versatile from burgers / stuffed / I could maybe even where them as hats if I wanted to. lol 🍄
Their so big and hearty.  It's a natural filler upper. Now this recipe was super easy do. and great for something quick that's hearty. I did end up using frozen veggies instead of fresh due to time. I prefer cooking my own food (because I'm a control freak...pure and simple). 🍄
SWIPE LEFT for ingredients.  Keep reading for how to & ingredients.  Save to come back to quickly.

Ingredients: -2 big ass portabello mushrooms (you can gut them if you want or leave it.  I prefer to gut it) -1-1.5 tbsp oil (to avoid burning the mushroom) - Frozen "riced" veggies (grabbed in frozen section at Kroger). Follow instructions on bag - additional seasoning for veggies (noticed the frozen veggies can be bland without much added to them) - Mustard to top off 🍄
How to:

Gut your mushrooms if want and place on foil in oven to bake.  Rub oil on them first with light seasoning (make sure oil is on top and bottom). Place mushrooms on foil face up. Bake until tender (which is about 15-20 min depending on oven). Our oven broke so I have to use a small conventional oven for all my roasting and baking needs. JOY!! Flip over about half way through to roast both sides. Once done take out to cool a bit. Prepare the frozen veggies based on package instructions.  Tip: Open bag when done and put seasoning inside (make sure bag has cooled first...do I need to say what happens if you don't lol). Shake the seasoning around.  Place mushrooms face up and pour riced veggies on the mushrooms. It's ok if they spill over....it's looks more appetizing that way lol. Drizzle mustard or spicy mustard over the entire plate and ENJOY!!

Heyooooo!!!
Alright, this past week (which has honestly felt like a LIFETIME) has not been great to be completely honest... I have been so so sick and I fell completely off track with my eating and fitness routine. You see, when I get sick I give myself the excuse of "hey, you're sick, treat yourself to something because it will make you feel better."
But the thing is, I say this several times a day 😂 Dont get me wrong, it is TOTALLY okay to treat yourself but when you say it about 20 times a day, it's not exactly a treat anymore 😂
BUT... I am FINALLY FEELING BETTER
which means.... I will be posting more and posting what you guys want to see. So I would love to hear what you guys look for in a fitness page and what you would like to see specifically on my page :) Love you all and I hope you have a great rest of your day ❤❤❤

Oh this yellow drink, how I love thee!! It’s what helps me power through workouts. It helps jolt me to life after a late night. To get me through the seemingly never ending house work. 
It’s not just a preworkout, it’s a way of life!! And today, a NEW fruit punch flavor launched and I can’t me more excited for mine to get here!
