So this morning I woke up sick, with a sore throat, head pounding, my neck and chest hurt also and to really top it off,  my hip has begun hurting. Now I'm not one who gets sick, this is rare for me but this hip has me feeling even more down. Dec 10 was the day I took the pic in the shorts. This so happens to be the first time a was able to completely get into and hold this pose. Dec 12 is the day I took the pic in the black tights which is the day of my hip injury. Since then I haven't been able to have movement in the left hip first 3weeks it was hard to walk. In the beginning it hurt to put any pressure on the leg or hip joint. Yesterday Feb 18 was the first day I could do down dog and smoothly have any type of movement of the hip with virtually no pain. Now today I feel as though I'm back at square one, it even hurts to stand. I'm hoping the pain lives with this sore throat.

Getting strong is just as important as @getstretchy - tag your workout buddy!! 👯‍♀️💪🏽 This exercise will strengthen your whole body! Arms, shoulders, core, and inside legs.

Heres how you do this one:
1️⃣ Set up your side plank with right hand underneath shoulder, inside of left foot arch pressed into floor - leg strong and abs engaged. Cross right ankle over left to start, and left hand behind head.
⚠️ To modify this, just hold the starting position, remembering to protract shoulders so you’re not dumping into wrists and shoulders.
2️⃣ Lift Hips up and pull right knee to tap right arm, pull navel deeply into spine.
3️⃣Return to the staring point.
4️⃣Do 5 reps, 3x

How would you feel if I told you there is absolutely no part of you that needs to be changed or fixed and that you don’t need to leave your body to reach “enlightenment” or “samadhi” etc. How many of you are with a dual belief system that you have to work your way to enlightenment, and that you’re un-pure until you reach it? How many of you feel you have so many unrealistic steps to climb before you’re considered pure, enlightened, “woke” - Many students of yoga, especially those undergoing yoga teacher training, are introduced to the Yoga Sutras (myself included). It is commonly believed that this text, composed by Patanjali represents the culmination of the ancient yoga tradition’s spiritual quest. These so-called Classical Yoga teachings, most students believe, are a long and complex development that emerged from yoga’s archaic beginnings in the Vedas about 3000 years earlier, but not everyone agrees with this timeline of the history of yoga, nor that yoga is mostly a Vedic practice. It took me a while to move away from how I thought I had to “act” or “work towards” in order to be considered a “true yogi” but if we strip away the various philosophies of yoga and look at what yoga is in practical terms, then what emerges at the core is Tantra... a practical system, a system of physical and mental transformation, a practice promoting healing and liberation of the human body and mind.. ✨🙏🏼

Took another yin class this morning. When she said frog, I thought, oh my goodness. I held it longer than I’ve ever done before. It’s so uncomfortable, but I sank into it and stopped focusing on the feeling. Instead, I thought, it’ll never get better if I don’t practice. 🙏🏽
