First day of Yoga Teacher Training today 🧘🏼‍♀️ This picture obviously isn’t from today (it’s from a fantastic beach at Hawaii) but I was so overwhelmed with feelings, information, asanas, new friendships that I didn’t take one single photo today 🙂 I guess that’s a good sign, right! The first day was great and I’m thrilled about what this weekend and the following weeks and practice will offer and teach me 🌺 Thank you @sofialofstaf for being a great river guide through this journey and thank you @global_yoga for having this awesome yoga teacher training 🧘🏼‍♀️

The beauty of NZ is that no matter where you are, you are probably close to a beach.
I’m currently trading my (one true love) black sand west coast piha for a white sand east coast whangamata! And though I’m miles away from home I still feel a piece of it with me with the sand under my feet and the sound of waves crashing against the shore.

I'm not flexible, so doing yoga is like knotting my limbs together and trying to untie myself after a yoga pose 😅
On a serious note, yoga is very beneficial for runners.
It increases strength and flexibility
Relieves muscle pain
Minimizes injuries

Everyday before I start my handstand practice (at home) I always begin by doing an L shape handstand to help stretch and open my shoulders, while improving my posture. .
It’s one of those drills that you don’t have to do for long to notice a difference (posture mainly).

Right Leg Up - Hold for 30sec
Left Leg Up - Hold for 30sec .
Rest for 30sec & repeat drill x2 .
